Long time no post
Sharonclaws has done an excellent job of taking care of the balance of the details that I could have been posting
Lots has happened but nothing particularly newsworthy and unrelated by my lovely wife until now
Long story short - we wound up with a beautiful but not terribly happy cat named Jack
As we got ready to move into the new house, we concluded that Jack would be happier with a house that did not involve Spike - his arch nemesis - and probably best friend - cats are weird that way.
So Jack got to go to the shelter where he has apparrently charmed someone into taking him into their loving home ( and since the shelter specifically listed him as a cat looking for a home with no other cats - all he should have to worry about are dogs and children - which I believe he can handle ).
I say apparrently because the adoption world only allows for indirect evidence of adoption of a cat - his image and page have dissapeared from the adoption site and I did not receive any contact back indicating that there was a problem and would I like him back.
So hooray for some Portlanders taking into their home a very beautiful and slightly forlorn cat who has been tossed about in the sea of life.

Almost completely Spoiler Free - I would say completely spoiler free but I am terrible at guarding things - Word to the wise: do not speak with me about the movie if you really hate spoilers.

• All in all the movie was a very good one.  On par with anything that I have seen in at least the past year even with my exceptionally high standards given how I love the series.  Not in the class of Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, but well worth the wait and the money to see it again. 


• The film itself looked almost complete.  Some XF might have been missing and the print was perhaps a little dark and grainy and there was definitely some audio that needed balancing and working over, but in general it was a completed product. 


• The plot, action and effects are larger as is required by today's movie experience.  This is not necessarily a great thing for our heroes as they seem to shine brighter when there isn't as much going on around them.  Additionally, I have a particular exception that I am taking to a particular plot point which lacked originality in my opinion, but did not distract from the movie too much.

That is about all I can say without venturing too deep into spoilerage.

Weather forecasters are doomsaying again.  Local Portland weather is slightly mimicking the dreaded 100 year storm of last January.  But I know something they do not know - they call it a 100 year storm for a reason.

What's up with that - Bring back the chilly but above freezing rain with little or no wind already.
But the Blue Sky is nice.

I miss the clear cold deep blue skies that you get when there isn't any water left in the air cause it's too damn cold.

But not that much.

I am a very Lucky man

• To have such a wonderful wife


• To have a good extended family


• To be have a healthy son on the way


• To be rich in true friends


• and not to be poor of money - that does help too.

But mostly - It's just having a wonderful wife.

As a co-worker of mine put it
